Prenatal Care
At Birth Works, we offer specialized care and informed consent.
Care starts with an Initial appointment which is about 1 hour long. At this appointment we will go over paperwork, discuss what individual needs for care will be, & prenatal care.
During prenatal care we offer:
- Labs
- Ultrasound
- Glucose screening
- Iron levels
- Supplement advice
- Diet and hydration advice
- Referrals
Appointments are scheduled every 4 weeks until 30 weeks' gestation - after 30 weeks to 37 appointments are every 2 weeks & from 37 weeks until delivery- every week.
Labor & Delivery
At home: We will supply a list of things for delivery and give you your supplies which include: (Pool if desired, supplies midwife need for delivery, postpartum care essentials, home birth onesie for baby). All other things needed for delivery will be brought with us. which include but not limited to:
- Herbs and medication for delivery
- Oxygen and resuscitation equipment
- Hemorrhage medication and equipment
- Lidocaine & suturing equipment
- Newborn care equipment
At the Clinic: We will have all necessary supplies ready for delivery. Our amazing birth tub that allows you to labor and birth your baby. Space to be able to freely move around and be mobile during labor. A list will be handed out around 37 weeks to pack your bag for clinic.
Postpartum
After care will be discussed at home or clinic and midwifes will be available by text or call during Normal business hours, unless an emergency arises.
Continued care will be scheduled at 2 weeks, 4 weeks, 6 weeks and 8 weeks postpartum. Unless otherwise discussed with provider.
